Authorities Hunt for Walmart Shooting Suspects in Lumberton

 


Lumberton, NC – The Lumberton Police Department is urgently seeking public assistance in locating two individuals linked to a fatal shooting that occurred at a Walmart on Fayetteville Road. The suspects have been identified as 17-year-old Ezekiel Burden and 18-year-old Brian Campbell. Burden is wanted on charges of first-degree murder and weapons violations, while Campbell faces charges of accessory after the fact.



The tragic incident took place on Friday at the Woodforest Bank located inside the Walmart. According to police, Burden and Campbell targeted two individuals they knew who were standing in line. Unfortunately, during the gunfire, 42-year-old Brandy Olson, a Lumberton resident who was also in line but not one of the intended targets, was struck. Despite the immediate efforts of witnesses to administer life-saving measures, Olson was critically injured. She was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.


Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and have released a public appeal for any information that could assist in locating Burden and Campbell.
