LINCOLN, DE. - The Delaware State Police have identified the pedestrian who was killed in a hit-and-run incident early on Christmas Day. The victim has been named as 29-year-old Leo Hernandez Perez, a resident of Milford.


The tragic event took place at approximately 3:30 a.m. on December 25. Hernandez Perez was walking along Cubbage Pond Road near its intersection with Johnson Road when he was struck by a northbound Toyota Tundra. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and fled the scene immediately after the collision.


Law enforcement officials later found the vehicle abandoned on Johnson Road, a discovery that has since become a critical piece of the ongoing investigation.
