21-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot Outside Motorcycle Club on New Year's Eve



 A senseless act of violence has claimed the life of a young man in Louisville, Kentucky, marking the city's first homicide of 2025. Michael Lamont Bass II, 21, was fatally shot outside a motorcycle club in the Chickasaw neighborhood on New Year's Eve.


The shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. on December 31, 2024, near the No Haterz Motorcycle Club on South 36th Street. Police responded to reports of gunfire, but were informed en route that individuals were already transporting the victim to UofL Hospital for emergency care.


Bass, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest, underwent surgery upon arrival at the hospital. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after midnight on January 1, 2025. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later confirmed his identity.
