"Road Rage Incident Turns Deadly: Man Shot Multiple Times in Walmart Parking Lot After Traffic Confrontation in Tifton, Georgia"

 


A disturbing incident of road rage has left a 42-year-old man hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds in Tifton, Georgia. The shooting occurred on Sunday morning in the parking lot of a Walmart located off Highway 82. According to the Tifton Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 9:15 a.m. and found the victim, Keith King, suffering from gunshot wounds to his lower extremities.


King was transported to Tift Regional Medical Center, where he is currently receiving medical treatment. The alleged shooter, 24-year-old Robert G. Wright, was detained at the scene and has been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery. Wright is currently being held at the Tift County Jail.


The investigation revealed that the shooting stemmed from a traffic-related confrontation that began with a near-collision at the intersection of Highway 82 and McCormick Drive. Following the close call, King reportedly followed Wright to the Walmart parking lot, where an argument ensued between the two men. During the altercation, King exited his vehicle and approached Wright's car, at which point Wright allegedly produced a firearm and fired multiple shots, striking King.


The Tifton Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident and is urging anyone with information to come forward. Sgt.
