Deadly Crash in Arlington Results in One Fatality, Multiple Critical Injuries

Arlington, TX  – Early Saturday morning, a devastating multi-vehicle crash in Arlington claimed the life of one person and left several others in critical condition. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. in the 300 block of N. Watson Road near Division Street. Police were dispatched to the scene following reports of pedestrians being struck.

Upon arrival, officers found two people lying in the street after being hit by a vehicle, and a woman inside a car involved in the crash. According to investigators, the incident began when a 42-year-old woman lost control of her 2016 Hyundai Veloster while driving along N. Watson Road, causing her to veer off the road. She contacted family members for assistance.

Tyler White, 31, arrived in his 2004 GMC SUV to help. He activated his hazard lights and pulled over in the far-right lane. As White and the woman were retrieving a cable from White’s SUV, a speeding BMW X1 collided with them and the SUV. First responders found White and the woman lying in the street; both were rushed to a local hospital. Tragically, White succumbed to his injuries, while the woman remains in critical condition.

The BMW’s driver, a 34-year-old woman, was also extricated from her vehicle and taken to a nearby hospital, where she is in critical condition. The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, with Arlington police suspecting that alcohol may have played a role. Authorities have yet to release the identities of the BMW driver and the other injured woman.

As the investigation continues, the Arlington community is left grappling with the aftermath of this tragic event. Tyler White’s family has set up a GoFundMe to support the family during this difficult time. Police are urging anyone with information about the crash to come forward as they work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

This fatal crash serves as a stark reminder of the dangers present on the road and the potential consequences of driving under the influence.
