A tragic incident unfolded in Greensboro, North Carolina, on January 6, 2025, when emergency responders were dispatched to a reported stabbing and gunshot wound incident at 2939 W. Vandalia Road. Upon arrival, authorities found 25-year-old Darius Deshaud Goolsby in a breezeway, suffering from injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.
Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, Goolsby succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. His next of kin have been notified, and the community is left to mourn the loss of a young life.
Detectives and forensic investigators quickly processed the scene and identified a suspect, 25-year-old Jalen Xavier Burch. Burch was subsequently arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with Goolsby's death.

One of these arrests is the result of significant collaboration between GPD and the community, and we are grateful for this support and partnership."
